How users opt in

SMS consent is collected at two points: during account creation (Step 3 of onboarding) and in Account Settings. Both flows use identical consent language. Opt-in is never pre-checked — users must actively enter a phone number and click the checkbox. Consent is not required to create an account or use CrimePulse.
